How it works
- Choose a video file (up to 100 MB as a guest, or 200 MB when signed in). Vertical Shorts open in a tall preview.
- On the timeline, drag to keep sections. For wide videos, optionally convert to 9:16 and drag the frame on the video to choose what stays in view.
- Preview the final cut, choose MP4 or Match upload, then Create clip.
FAQ
- Do I need an account?
- No for trimming in the browser. Guests can edit videos up to 100 MB; sign in to edit up to 200 MB. Saving to Livdock is optional after signup.
- What’s the file size limit?
- 100 MB if you’re not signed in, 200 MB when you are. Large files still depend on your device and browser memory.
- Do multiple sections become multiple files?
- No. Sections are stitched in timeline order into one clip.
- Can I make a YouTube Short from a wide video?
- Yes. Turn on Convert to vertical (9:16), then drag the bright frame on the video to choose what stays in the Short.
- Can I export MP4?
- Yes — choose MP4 (most compatible). If your browser can’t record MP4, we fall back to WebM. Match upload prefers the same container as your file when possible.
- Which browsers work best?
- Chrome and Firefox support captureStream + MediaRecorder well. Safari support is limited.
- Is trimming frame-perfect?
- It’s approximate — good for quick cuts, not professional NLE precision.
